Our Programs
Here are a collection of our state programs
Seminarian Program
Since July 1989 New York State Council Columbiettes have been selling a variety of angel pins, monogrammed tee, golf shirts, jackets, and sweatshirts, and now candles with the proceeds, combined with the generous monetary donations from our Auxiliaries, allowing us to award grants to seminarians throughout New York State to help with their journey to the priesthood. Each year Chapters and State Officers submit names of seminarians and the proceeds is divided among them.
Transcription Program for the Blind, Inc.
Our TPFTB,INC is now a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization. Through contributions from our Columbiettes, memorial and all occasion cards we are able to give out grants and produce our Funny Alphabet Book which is also now in Spanish. The grants are given for educational aid to anyone who is visually impaired. The recipient must be sponsored by a Columbiette and submit an application. The Funny Alphabet Book is put together entirely by Columbiettes. Each page has a letter, the Braille symbol for the letter and a cut out that represents the letter (For Example: E is for Elephant). As the child feels the different objects on the page a CD tells him what he is feeling. Kits are sent to auxiliaries and chapters for them to make.
Nickels for Nuns
Nickels for Nuns provides financial assistance to our retired sisters through the generous donations of our Auxiliaries and Chapters. Each Chapter chooses a sister's retirement home to receive the donation.
Beginning the Journey
Our newest program that started in 2021 helps our ladies who are studying to become religious sisters
